To be honest, this is not a letter I was eager to write. I resisted….but our God is very persistent. I debated with Him, begged Him to have me do something else. “Oh God, what if people talk? Oh God, what if people still haven’t forgiven? Oh God, what if I sound foolish?” Then He reminded me of this scripture…Galatians 1:10 which says, “Obviously, I’m not trying to win the approval of people, but of God. If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ’s servant.” So here I am with my heart completely open to share with you the fascinating things God is doing.
When our church started having services in February of 2013 we were worried we weren’t ready. But God said as long as we trusted in Him completely, loved with an extravagant love, and allowed Him to lead us then we would see thousands of lives changed. We believe Him. He has never failed us. He has never left us. He has never stopped pursuing and loving us. And He has never broken His promises. Never.
And do you know that He has already started to do what He promised?! Things He showed Chris and I three years ago are beginning to happen!! Lives are being transformed in a way we all desire to see. People are coming to Jesus with broken, hurting hearts and He is rescuing them! Saving them! Healing them! We see God strengthening families. He is empowering men to be godly husbands and fathers. Women and children are growing in their relationship with Jesus every day.
On Sunday (Jan 26) God blew me away. We had 49 people show up for service and I was so excited. Every seat was filled. After service we all went outside to do baptisms for anyone who was ready to take that next step in their relationship with Jesus. And the most beautiful, breath-taking thing happened. 18 people came forward! 18 people got baptized! Can you imagine?! A church of our size seeing such an amazing thing! And that’s not it. Of those 18 people there were two complete families. The father, mother and their children! The intensity of the Holy Spirit that morning is something I will never forget. I can’t even put into words how in-awe I am of our Heavenly Daddy.
“Because of our faith, Christ has brought us into this place of undeserved privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God’s glory” Romans 5:2
