We were blessed to have church again this Sunday, although if we could have known how much snow would be on the roads by the time we dismissed at noon, we might have cancelled. But, we all made it safely home so God takes care of the blissfully ignorant. We did dismiss Sunday night services. Not many came out due to bad weather.
Opening prayer was led by Loren and opening scripture was read from John 10:1-5. Our adult class is reading the book of Job. Job never blamed God for his troubles. He never lost his faith. What an example for us. We sang Happy Birthday to Hunter Day. He is now 8 years old, and we sung several songs. Jerry took his text from Ecclesiastes 2:4-13. Serving God is the only true way to real peace of mind. “Then I saw that wisdom excelleth folly, as far as light excelleth darkness.” Solomon wrote that all else is vanity.
Jerry and I went down to Ozark and visited with Iona Maggard last Friday. She was feeling better, after having a cold. I love to visit her. She is always smiling and happy to have visitors.
We attended the funeral of Fae Pruett on Saturday. Everyone will miss Fae. She was a special lady and loved by all who knew her. We send prayers to her family and to others who have lost loved ones.
We want to invite you to come to church next Sunday, if you are not currently attending somewhere else. God bless, and drive carefully, if you have to be out on the roads. And remember, ”In one hundred words, Psalm 23 sums up all our needs in life and all the abundance of God’s grace. It begins with ‘The Lord,’ and ends with ‘Forever.’ What could be better than that?”
