Another beautiful day at Girdner! We got to church and seen a few snowflakes. When Sis. Maxine was finished preaching, she ask if we were going to have church that night. I had no idea it had even been snowing the whole time we were there, and it had accumulated! When we pulled out of drive we slipped a little, so was thinking calling off church for Sunday night was a good thing.
Sis. Maxine’s message was from Gen. 26: 17-19. Continuing with philistines filling up the wells. Her message was still continuing with we needed to get the things out of our wells that might be hindering us from hearing from God or doing his will. To clean ourselves, and have the priority of God being 1st in our lives. We need to know the the truth of a severe God. He can use whoever or whatever he wants. We need to know the authority of a “thus saith the word of God”. Some don’t believe in the miracles, virgin birth, or the many inspirational things that God has given us in his word. Sometimes we don’t read his inspired word. Sometimes its not preached. It’s not taught enough and we don’t tell it enough to our children, family and friends. Sis. Maxine spoke of hearing a preacher on tv, that was asked what was his opinion on homosexuals. His words were, “ We don’t get to have an opinion when God speaks.” What a statement. If we could just practice this. We don’t get to have an opinion on this, and a lot of other things. If God says it’s wrong, it’s wrong. If he says we love them anyway, we do. I’m so thankful for the word of God, and for the many truths that’s there for me to read and hold onto. I believe the Lord will bring us thru all the many things that come our way, he just wants us to stand for him, and give him praise when praise is due. Read his word, not only to give us strength and truths for our own lives, but to have the right words to share with those we may meet that are needing to hear the truth and know some great truths’ that are written in the word of God.
This Sunday night will be our singing at church. Bring a song, testimony or just come to listen and have a snack and fellowship afterwards. Starts at 6 p.m.
Bro. Gary says for the next few weeks on Wed. nights they will be studying on the armour of God, in Eph. 6. Sounds like another great study. We will have a short business meeting this Wed. night and then will go on into Bible study. Everyone welcome.
If you should find yourself this week in a place you feel alone and in need, I’d like to share this verse. Psalms 46:1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
