12-30-13. Dear Readers: It’s that time for me to see if I can come up with something to write about again. As far as the weather, it’s very cold and very snowy. It’s 5 degrees and feels like -6 and snowing hard. Just supposed to get 1 to 2 inches today, but supposed to keep snowing in the days and nights to come. We don’t have to get out for a few days. It’s suppose to stay cold too.
On Friday I need to get out and run a few errands. It’s suppose to be bitterly cold, but no snow, so that part is good.
On Saturday we are suppose to meet Berta and her friend at the restaurant for lunch around noon. I hope the weather is not too bad then. I always like to see Berta and of course I always like to go the restaurant and see Lisa and other family members and speaking of that, we went down south of Muscatine on Stewart Road on Saturday for our Christmas dinner with my family. Jared, Carrie and Zoie had it at their house this time. They just bought a house down there in October and I really, really like their new place. They have a nice, roomy house with a big kitchen for entertaining. We had turkey, ham and all kinds of good food. They had cake and ice cream for Anita and Jared’s birthdays. Anita’s being the 27th and Jared’s today, Monday. Frank Dee Allison’s birthday is today also. As I so often do, I thought for sure I had mailed it, but not so, I found it in with some more things I was getting ready for the mail. I had forgotten to get Jared, my only grandson a birthday card, so I got one and mailed his and Dee’s today. You’d think with me just having one daughter, (I forgot to get her one too), one granddaughter, one grandson, one great-grandson and one great-granddaughter I would remember to get cards. On Saturday Jared, Carrie and Zoie were there of course, and Anita, Carol and Anita’s Dad, Trevis, Walt and me. We had to leave before Lisa and Joe got there. I sure missed seeing them and Jacob wasn’t there either. I hope all of us can get together soon.
I’ve found a few cable shows I really like to watch. They’re “Prospectors”, “Pawn Stars,” “American Pickers” and a few more. Oh yes, at the kids new place beside the neat house, they’ve got a carport for 3 or 4 vehicles, a big shed, smaller shed and on out at the end of the property there’s a shelter and picnic table just like they have in parks. I sure had a nice visit with everyone. Oh yes, Frank Dee told me to be sure and say that he has three daughters who are all pure angels and I believe him.
Well, everyone take care of yourselves and bye, bye for now.
