The twentieth verse of Matthew chapter eighteen took on a whole new meaning for me this last Sunday morning. Because of the bitterly cold wind, snow and bad road conditions only three of us were able to get to church for services. Jesus said in that verse, “For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.”
We came together, discussed our Sunday school lesson, sang praises to the Lord and studied God’s word together, and he, true to his word was in our midst.
This coming Sunday will be our Missions Sunday, we hope the roads are open for travel and more of you will be with us in Sunday school and worship services. The planned message for next Sunday, the twelfth is, “New Beginnings,” the New Year in New Life with Christ. Come and join us for a blessing, in His services.
We also had to cancel teen night this Monday at the regular 6:30 p.m. time, for food, fun and fellowship with the teens.
Even during this time of extreme cold, open your Bible and read through the Psalms for a “heart-warming” experience in the word, then stoke your spiritual fire with a few verses from the gospel of John. If you keep the hearth laid, with the fuel of hope, peace and love, your home will be warmed by the power of the Spirit of life. Try it, you’ll like it.
Come and join us in worship, when the roads are clear and you will see what I mean; that he is indeed, in our midst. May God keep you ever in His loving care is our prayer.
