Ice Blamed For Wreck In West End of County Last Friday Morning

Ice was blamed for a wreck west of Goodhope early last Friday morning that resulted in minor injuries to the driver.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol said Kim M. Loeber, 48, of Ava, was traveling west on Route T, three miles west of Goodhope, when her 2004 Chevrolet slid out of control on the ice-covered roadway.
The car ran off the road and overturned. Loeber was wearing a seatbelt, according to the Troop G report.
The wreck occurred at 6:40 a.m. and was investigated by Cpl. Amye Johnson, of the Highway Patrol.
Loeber was taken to Mercy Hospital in Springfield by Cox Ambulance-Ava.
Wet or icy roadway may have been the cause of a fatal crash that occurred just after noon Friday, 1.5 miles east of Ozark on Highway 14, in Christian County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol said Curtis R. Baker, 25, of Sparta, died at Cox South Hospital, Springfield following the 12:15 p.m. crash.
Troop D reported that Baker lost control of the 2003 Chevrolet Malibu he was driving and slid into the path of  a 1997 Chrysler Concorde driven by Sarah L. Morgan, 47, of Sparta.
Morgan was not wearing a seatbelt and suffered serious injuries in the crash. She was taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital, Springfield.
A passenger in the Morgan car, Louise C. Morgan, 70, also of Sparta, was wearing a seatbelt. She was also taken to Mercy Hospital, Springfield, with moderate injuries.
Baker was pronounced dead at 1:36 p.m. at the hospital.
The wreck was investigated by Tpr. R. Wilkins.
