Sis. Maxine shared with us at the beginning of her message that she had preached her 1st message at Girdner 51 years ago Sunday. We are so glad to have her with us, delivering the word to us, each Sunday and Sunday night.
Have you ever heard a message, and thought to yourself, that was just the best message I have ever heard. And then… you hear another best message you have ever heard. Well , that’s just the way it was Sunday! Sis. Maxine preached from Gen. 26:12-19. And Isaac dug another well. To sum up the message , her question to us at the end of the service was , What do you have in your well, and are you willing to get it out? Something that would keep you from hearing from God, prevent you from serving him as you should. I think we all could say we need a change in our country and it starts with each one of us. Are we doing our part, are we asking the holy spirit to live in our lives and give us that personal revival in us? Before we can see a change we 1st may have to change ourselves. I love the verse Sis. Maxine quoted from 2 Chron. 7:14. If my people, shall humble themselves and pray,.. Then I will heal their land. God wants us to do our part 1st, then he will heal our land. I’m sure all that was there sunday morning will be thinking what we have in our wells this week. Sis. Maxine always gives you something to think on thru the week. Wish I could write it as good as it was delivered, the Lord was truly blessing us with a great message.
Sunday night was from Prov: 18:20-21, on the tongue. Many other passages were used also. We can use it for good, or for bad. To lift someone up, or bring someone down. Words said by our tongue can leave a scar that will last a life time.
As we go thru this next week, let us think before we speak, that we, may not do anything to bring someone down, or leave a scar in someone’s life that would last a lifetime.
Remember all the sick & those who have lost loved ones. If you don’t have a home church, we would love to have you at our church, 10:00 am on Sundays, 6 pm. on Sunday night and 7pm. on Wed. night. We have an adult class as well as children’s class on Wed. night with some great kids that would love to have some more to join them in learning more about God!
