Eastern Gate and Around the Mountain

It has been a sad time on our mountain this weekend. A precious lady went home to be with her Lord and Saviour. Teena, will be missed by her family and by her church family. We need to pray for god to send His comforting arms to her family. I know if she could tell you anything, it would be to make sure when it comes time for God to call you home, that you have made your preparations to make heaven your home.

We have had some much better weather this week, a little on the cold side, at least no snow or ice on the ground. I didn’t get to the nursing home this week. I could make all kinds of excuses, but the truth is I just ran out of time and energy.

My oldest granddaughter, Courtney, has started her ball games and we sure enjoy going to watch her play. We also get to visit friends while we are out at the games. Sunday afternoon, Dustin and Tina’s kids came down and spent the afternoon with me. My son, Shawn, is going to celebrate a birthday this week so if anyone reads this they can wish him a happy birthday. I keep trying to get younger, but it’s hard to do when my kids keep getting older.

Our crowd was down a little at church Sunday, but we still had a good service. We started with Sunday school in the kitchen. Sometimes we forget to appreciate the little things. Our heater wasn’t working when we got to church and thanks to our men, they got it to kick on and we had heat for the rest of the day. I for one always enjoy a warm church.

Jerry Nelson was feeling well enough to sing with us and I was glad to have him, I know Riger and Jimmy were glad to have him back on his favorite spot too We always miss people when they are not in their usual place.

I guess that is all the news I have for today, remember life is sometimes too short. Make your reservations today for your home in heaven. For questions or concerns call a church near you.
