Virginia King, 79

Virginia Lois King, 79 years, passed away on Nov. 21, 2013 at Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare, Ava, Mo., from a long illness.

Virginia was born Jan. 13, 1934 in Ava, Mo., to Clarence and Ada Opal (Walker) King.

Virginia was a lifelong resident of the Ava community.

She retired from working at Rawlings Sporting Goods in Ava many years. She had also worked at Spaldings, U.S. Forest Service in Douglas County and Crystal Lake Fisheries.

Virginia was a hard working gal. She enjoyed gardening, farming and working with her cattle. She was a Christian.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Ralph, Loyd and Donas King; and a nephew, David King.

Virginia is survived by five sisters and their spouses, June Thompson, Ava, Mo., Geneva and Lee Hodges, Oldfield, Mo., Betty and Larry Scott, Ava, Mo., Minnie and Ed Potter, Squires, Mo., and Mary Hesterlee, Ava, Mo.; and many nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Virginia were Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013, at 2 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, Mo., with burial in the Dobbs Cemetery east of Ava. Visitation was Tuesday from 1 p.m. to service time in the funeral home. Officiating was Pastor Marvin Loftin. Memorials may be made to Dobbs Cemetery.
