The church band opened with music then there were two people baptized followed by prayer and more music. Brother Waylon Souder sang a special.
Brother Roberts brought the message from Luke 2: 25-30, “Missing Christmas.”
Sunday evening we had our Thanksgiving-Christmas dinner at Walnut Grove. There was lots of good food and lots of good fellowship, (even though some of the guys and gals were interested in the ball games on television.)
We have had a very good week. On Tuesday morning I drove to Mansfield where I met up with my mom, Nora Hunsaker, and my sister, Helen Cook then we three went to Springfield and met up with my other sister, Violet Flair and then traveled to Clinton, MO. where we visited with Aunt Violet Morris, Howard and Herb Morris. Uncle Hugh is not able to communicate now. He is quickly going downhill.
We had a lovely but sometimes tearful visit. We had lost our Uncle Mack Miller last week and that just leaves my mom and Aunt Violet. We talked and remembered lots of things about Uncle Mack then had to bid everyone ado and get started back home. We missed getting to visit with our cousin, Donna Morris while there.
I think Aunt Violet enjoyed the Lemon Meringue Pies that my sis and I took to her.
I have been busy making candy and getting ready for a craft and candy sale at my house this Friday and Saturday then another one next week at Mansfield Community Center.
