Four Sentenced To Prison At Douglas County Law Day

On Tuesday, Dec. 3, during Law Day proceedings, Judge Craig Carter sentenced the following defendants to the Missouri Department of Corrections:

— George Pelc, 42, of Ava, was sentenced to six years in prison for felony assault in the 2nd degree. The offense occurred on Sept. 21, 2013 and was investigated by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department.

— Mathew Anderson, 31, formerly of Ava, was sentenced to two years in prison for stealing. The offense occurred Dec. 21, 2004 and was investigated by the Ava Police Department. Anderson was arrested on an active warrant on Oct.13, 2013.

— Jesse Jennings, 22, of Seymour, was sentenced to three years in prison for receiving stolen property. The offense occurred Aug. 19, 2013 and was investigated by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department.

— Zachariah Barbe, 32, of Springfield, was sentenced to four years in prison for possession of a controlled substance. Barbe had his probation revoked by Judge Carter after numerous violations from Probation and Parole.
