Fay Humbyrd, 92

Fay  Humbyrd, 92 years, passed to heaven on Dec. 8, 2013 at Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare, Ava, Mo.
Fay was born Feb. 22, 1921 in  Longrun, Mo., (Ozark County) to Jim  and  Edna (Gray) Robirds.
Fay was a homemaker and a life long resident of the Ava community.
On May 21, 1938 Fay and Rev. Ira Humbyrd were united in marriage in Ava, Mo., and to this union four children were born.
Fay was a Christian and a member of the Basher Pentecostal Church. She faithfully helped her husband pastor the Basher Church for over 32 years and also the Roy Church for eight years.
She delighted in cooking for her family and anyone else.
She also enjoyed gardening, sewing, canning and flowers.
Fay was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Rev. Ira Humbyrd and one great granddaughter, Jessica Riley.
Fay is survived by four children and their spouses, Doyle and Frances Humbyrd and Rod and Pam Humbyrd, all of Ava, Mo., Ron and June Humbyrd, Pasco, Wash., and Dianne and Jim Mayberry, Republic, Mo.; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Fay will be Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013 at 2 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, Mo., with burial in the Ava Cemetery. Visitation was Wednesday  from 6 to 7 p.m. in the funeral home. Officiating will be  Pastor Junior Hall and Pastor Neal Crum. Memorials may be made to Gideons International or Hospice Compassus, Mtn. Grove, MO.
