She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Earl Ray Matney; her second husband, Roy Carter, of Twin Falls, Idaho; two sons, John Matney and Joseph Matney; granddaughter, Jaclyn Matney; and daughter-in-law, Helen MacGregor Matney.

Ella’s greatest interest besides her large, extended family, was an amazing skill in country-style cooking. Her specialties included southern style fried chicken, homemade biscuits and gravy, and an incredible array of pies. Holidays were never complete without her pecan and pumpkin pies.
All who knew Ella are invited to attend a celebration of her life at Filer (Idaho) First Baptist Church where she had been a longtime member and was baptized there many years ago. The service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 23, at 2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to hospice are welcomed.
