Dugger Report 11.7.2013

So often we forget the blessing of freedom we enjoy as Americans.  Somewhere in the hustle and bustle of life it is so easy to lose track of the price that has been paid so that you and I can sleep peacefully at night.  Countless times throughout the two hundred years of American history there are reasons to thank the selfless act of a veteran for the freedoms we hold so dearly today.
A veteran is a fellow citizen.  An ordinary person who at one point made an extraordinary sacrifice when they willingly made out a blank check, payable to the United States of America for any amount up to and including their own life.  Their bravery, their resourcefulness and their patriotism marks them as America’s finest citizens; Americans who stepped out of the crowd and swore an oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States of America against all enemies.
On Monday, November 11, we as a country will take the time to honor these brave individuals. Every day should be veterans day, but especially as we pause on this hallowed day to honor brave men and women who have fought and continue to fight to keep America the “home of the free” let us not forget the debt of gratitude we owe them.  A debt we will never be able to fully repay.
Thank you to all the veterans who have and continue to protect the freedoms we enjoy as Americans.  May we never forget that freedom is not free.
