Volunteer Tax Preparers Needed

Volunteer return preparation program, Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE), provided by the Southwest Missouri Office on Aging through a grant from IRS, offers free tax help to people age 60 and older.  Trained volunteers provide free tax counseling and basic income tax return preparation for senior citizens.

TCE programs are offered within our 17 county planning and service area. We are presently recruiting volunteers for Douglas County. Free tax preparation services are generally provided at senior citizens centers within the county.

Volunteers who provide tax counseling are often retired individuals who have a desire to utilize their skills to help others.  A comprehensive training program is provided before the start of the program in February.

If you would like to volunteer, be trained and certified, and then help eligible taxpayers, please contact the Southwest Missouri Office on Aging.  For more information on Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE), contact the Southwest Missouri Office on Aging by calling Becky Pike at (800) 497-0822 or your local senior center.
