Last weeks news – We had a good Fifth Sunday meeting at camp on Friday and Saturday evenings. Three of our young pastors told us just what we needed to hear. So very few attended. A few years past our churches came together to fellowship. Now it is not so, each church does their own thing. I hope that is what God wants.
Sunday morning, Brad Siler, our Sunday school superintendent, shared how life is made up of opportunities. He reminded us now is the time to come and sing. We gained three new singers which we really needed.
Happy birthday was sung to Patty Siler and Dane Humbyrd, our special boy is now 21. We praise the Lord from whom all blessings come. Dane is truly a reminder of how great our God is.
Clay McFarlin prayed our offertory prayer as he and Aaron Humbyrd received our Lord’s tithes and offerings with LeaAnn Crum providing the music followed by handshaking.
Many testimonies were shared of our God’s greatness. Pastor Neal read Isaiah 55. We had a special and good time at the altar. Several prayer requests were shared. Among those were lost loved ones, those having tests and surgeries, those in accidents and many others. We all need the Lord. He is a jealous God. If he is not first, he will not be second or less.
At 6 p.m., Pastor Neal prayed followed by singing. Prayer requests were given. We were asked to remember to send a card to Lela Johnson on her 100th birthday on October 10th. Let us remember.
Rhonda Dobbs thanked us for praying for Donald Dobbs who was coming home after spending weeks in the hospital. Jeff Humbyrd led us in prayer.
LeaAnn and Erin Crum sang. Pastor Neal read from Hebrews 3, for this man was counted worthy of more than Moses, that is Jesus Christ.
Tuesday at 7 p.m. is special prayer time. We each need prayer. Our church needs prayer and, oh, how our nation needs prayer. Let us pray always.
Wednesday at 7 p.m. is our Bible study in Exodus. Come and be with us. We need you and you need the word.
