Sunday was a very nice day for the hayride hosted by the Garrison Church. They did the roadway trash pickup, hayride and weiner roast. We had a large crowd. We were very thankful for the great weather as it is usually rainy and cold.
Sunday 60 were present at Garrison Church. Lisa Hampton sang a special. On Halloween night Garrison Church is doing trunk or treat at the church and will also hold a revivial on Nov. 3 through 10th with a different speaker each night. Everyone welcome.
Sunday evening James and I visited Junior and Betty Halcomb. It was my brother, Junior’s birthday. We took him a gift and card. Happy Birthday Junior! We love you and wish you many more.
Ervin and Sandra Maggard and Valerie Austin visited Sunday with hi mom, Iona Maggard.
Lisa Hampton visited us the other evening. My brother, Rex, visited. We put two big loads of wood on the porch. Trying to get ready for deer season and ole’ man winter.
Friday night Brad and Patty Siler brought their two daughters to their grandparents, John and Connie Siler and great-grandparents, Junior and Betty Halcomb and Uncle David and Aunt Glenda Halcomb’s home for an early trick or treat.
Maxine Lirley had surgery. I talked to her son, Gary and she was doing good. Get-well wishes sent her way. I talked to her sister, Lyn Halcomb and her son-in-law, Rob Thompson needs prayers. Rob has had a rough go for a long time.
Mt. Olive (Highlonesome) Church will host a hayride Saturday evening at 4 p.m. They will come back to the church for chili, snacks and a weiner roast. Next week they are planning to start their Christmas program plans. Sunday they sang Happy Birthday to Riley Swearengin. The adult class is studying in Chronicles. Courtney and Logan Swearengin sang a special. Rev. Jerry Loveland’s message was from Matthew 16:13-17 and John 20:26. They are enjoying the services. If you don’t have a church, they would love to have you.
