Girdner Church

Wednesday night service was another great service. The children were all very attentive to the story from Numbers. The story of, Moses, Aaron, and Miriam. Miriam became a leper, for her grumbling and complaining and finding fault with one of Gods chosen men, Moses. The adults had a study on praising. This Wed. evening will be on baptism. If you don’t have a church to go to on Wed. evening, come on down. We have some good studies and Bro. Gary and the rest of his group are always coming up with some good subjects to study on out of the word.

We still have some out of our church due to illness and not feeling like getting out just yet. I’m sure Sis. Naomi would appreciate everyone’s prayers. She is missed when she can’t be with us. Sis. Freeda’s sister, Sue, has also been in the hospital, and hoping to come home this week. Lets remember these ladies in prayer as well as their family.

Bro. Gary and Sis. Connie was privileged to have their grandson, Brock and 7 of his Bible study young men over for a study and supper this last week. Now, I have ate both Gary and Connie’s cooking and I’m sure that was a real treat to all the boys. What a blessing to have a grandson spreading God’s word and sharing it with these young men. We are all very proud of Brock and the stand he takes for God.

Sunday morning, Sis. Maxine preached from St. John 4, the woman at the well. She had went to draw water from the well, but the water she received from Jesus was water that would be for everlasting life, she would not thirst again! As Sis. Maxine said, she would never be the same again. I am sure if we could hear this woman’s testimony today, she might  tell us, sin will take you farther than you want to go, and keep you there longer than you want to stay. (words spoken by a great preacher) What a great story! And we too, as the woman at the well, will never be the same, when we accept the Lord as our savior.

Sunday night Sis. Maxine’s message was from Job. She titled it , “Why Does Bad Things Happen To Good People?” I have certainly wondered that a lot, especially in this last year. As we set with a dear loved one as she made her last days journey here on this earth we ask ourselves this question as did she. We don’t know these answers, as did Job, not have the answers. But, He never gave up on God or curse him. When all was taken from him , he never turned away from God.  As long as we are here on this earth, that old roaring lion, Satan , will be walking to and fro, seeking who he may devour. Thank God this is just our temporary home. We have a better place than this to live for all eternity.

Sis. Maxine closed with three kinds of faith, Fair weather, foul weather, and all weather faith. We only have faith and trust God for things, when things are going good, this is fair weather faith, When things are bad, we run to God, this is foul weather faith, and no matter what comes our our way, whether it  be good, or bad, we trust in God thru it all, that’s ALL WEATHER Faith!  Let us  pray we all learn to have that  ALL WEATHER FAITH  and be ready to make heaven our forever home when he calls us home to him.

October 20th is friend day. We would love to have you come join us at Girdner. So, if you have a friend lets get them invited, and all get together for a day of worship and praise to our Savior and King.
