Ozarks Writers League Showcases Southern Authors
The Ozarks Writers League (OWL) is bringing authors, artists, and aspiring writers together in November for an educational conference.
Open to the public at College of the Ozarks, attendees will enjoy presentations on the writer’s craft and the publishing industry. Midwest authors will be available for book sales and signings.
Guest speakers Ann Hite and K.D. McCrite will present at the November conference.
Georgia 2012 Author of the Year, Ann Hite, is the author of three southern novels, including Ghost On Black Mountain (Gallery Books/Simon & Schuster), finalist for the Townsend Prize.
K.D. McCrite is the author of the April Grace series (Thomas Nelson Publishers), as well as a writer for Annie’s Attic Mysteries and Quilted Mysteries (Annie’s Publishing). She will be sharing her tips for pursuing your writing dreams, and how to benefit from a manuscript critique.
OWL meets Nov. 16, at 9 a.m. in Plaster Auditorium on the College of the Ozarks campus near Branson. A $10 fee is charged at the door for attendees, or pay $25 member dues and gain admission to all four annual conferences, with opportunities for entering writing and art contests, meetings with agents and editors, and special events like open-mic nights and member luncheons.
