Gentry News

Last weeks news – After opening with prayer and singing. We learned in our Sunday classes that evil can be overcome with the knowledge of God’s truth and prayer.

Happy Wedding Anniversary wishes went out to Doug and Sheila Miller.

Our special songs by Wanda Casady, Rod and Joanne Welker, also one by Bernie Hutchison.

Velda Miller attended church and had dinner with me Sunday.

I spent a few days over in Branson with my brother, Wayne Henderson, and wife, Pam. We went to some shows and to Silver Dollar City.

Bro. Dennis Shumate brought our morning message from chapter two of Ephesians. For by grace are ye saved and through faith not of yourselves, but is a gift of God. We are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with saints of God.

Our specials in the evening service were by the men’s trio, Narvil Tetrick, Rod and Joie Welker and the Gentry group.

I was glad to have Narvil and Beverly Tetrick back with us. They have been on a two week vacation to the west coast visiting friends and relatives and seeing the ocean and beautiful scenery.

Bro. Dennis’ evening message was from Matthew chapter 14. Will we step out in faith when things of this world try to bring you down, trust in God and His word. Doubting keeps us from receiving the good things Jesus has for us.

This weeks news – After prayer and singing in our Sunday school class, we studied about God’s covenant with Noah and when you see a rainbow it reminds us of God’s faithfulness and grace. It’s a token between God and earth.

Happy Birthday wishes went out to Charlotte Reich.

Our special song was by the children of the church.

Bro. Dennis Shumate brought his morning message from Luke, chapter 21. Take heed and be not deceived. When the armies compass Jerusalem, desolation is night. Look up, lift up your heads redemption draweth nigh. The word of God is being fulfilled.

Many from Gentry attended the Fourth Sunday Singing at Breedon Sunday.
