Boyd Resigns As Recorder of Deeds

Douglas County Clerk Karry Davis confirmed this week that Tina Boyd has resigned her position as Recorder of Deeds in Douglas County.
Mrs. Davis said the letter of resignation is effective at the end of September and the governor’s office has been notified that the vacancy will exist Oct. 1.
Both the Republican and Democratic parties of Douglas County are expected to make recommendations to the governor for candidates to fill the position by appointment.
Douglas County Democrats have also announced they will host a public forum in October to allow applicants for the position to present themselves and explain their qualifications.
Anyone interested in filling the vacancy should file an application with the County Clerk’s Office in the courthouse. The deadline for submitting an application is Oct. 8.
Boyd was first elected Douglas County Recorder in 2008 when the office was separated from the Circuit Clerk’s office.
