We trust everyone is having an enjoyable long holiday weekend. We had a full agenda at last week’s meeting and were able to iron out some details for our anniversary party and Kids Day, in addition to a few other things.
Kiwanis Club of Ava is turning 25! The club as it exists today was chartered Sept. 15, 1988. We are having a party to celebrate on Sept. 12, at 6 p.m. at Masonic Lodge in Ava. Our noon meeting is canceled on that day.
Invited guests: If you plan to eat with us, we need your RSVP by Saturday, Sept. 7, so we will know how much food to prepare! If you are unable to attend, please feel free to contact any Kiwanis member if you have something you want to share about your time in the club, etc. For more details, visit our Facebook page, by searching “Ava Kiwanis” and be sure to “like” our page.
Kiwanis Kids Day is scheduled for Sept. 28, 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. in the city park. If we have overlooked businesses and/or individuals who would like to be involved, please let us know by calling Donna Dixon at 683-1918 or email [email protected]
Citizens of the Month Meetings will be held on the 3rd Thursday of the month this year. We are looking forward to meeting Asst. High School Principal Aaron Dalton on Sept. 19.
Very soon we will begin scheduling this year’s Terrific Kids Presentations.
Tuesday, September 3, some of our members will attend a Child Abuse Awareness Meeting at the Health Dept. at 11:30 and an Ava Fest Meeting at 5:30 at MOCH.
If you know of a program you think would be of interest to our members and the community, please contact Donna Dixon at 683-1918 to schedule a date.
