August 6th meeting was called to order by Sharon. We had 13 weigh in with a loss of 18-3/4 lbs. High loser was Billie. Rachel, Elizabeth and Louise stayed the same.
Rachel did the lesson on “Hot Summer Weather Health and Safety Tips, The Top 10.” 1. Shield your skin and eyes with SPF 15 or higher. 2. Stay hydrated with water. Drink 10 or more cups of water. Avoid alcohol, caffiene and sugar. They cause loss of fluids. 3. Eat healthy and safe foods. Don’t let junk food destroy your fun. 4. Be sensible with exercise. 5. Balance activity with rest. 6. Don’t be a victim of crime. People come in close contact in summer. 7. Use safe insect protection. 8. Identify poisonous plants. Both poison oak and ivy have leaf clusters of three. 9. Stay cool to beat the heat. 10. Learn simple safety tips.
