Saturday, August 17, Rod, Lisa and Kayli came out and drove Sue to the Pig Roast at the Plainview School. They enjoyed the meal and visited with different neighbors.

Sue said since she had cataract surgery it gets difficult at times to see to do things. She has the other eye done in September. She said she’d be glad to get it done so she can see better. There’s always someone available to help her.

Sunday, August 11 at Goodhope General Baptist 66 were in attendance.

School children were called to the front and given a Wal-Mart gift card for school supplies. Pastor David is continuing these messages from Rev. on the Philadelphia Church. He preaches a spirit-filled message. If you don’t have a home church , you are invited to come hear Pastor Dave at Goodhope General Baptist.

Sunday, August 18 attendance was 90 plus. Kayla Welsh Sunday School class had the special.

Children took up penny march after congregational singing.

Pastor David continued preaching from Revelation, chapter 3 on Philadelphia Church. Another spirit-filled message. People were seeking God at the altar. Good preaching, Dave.

The church provided lunch for the Jerry Hall family after the funeral. Our prayers go out to the family.

Saturday and Sunday, August 10 – Delmar and Dennis Oliver drove down from Rolla to visit their mother, Dianne, and grandma Sue and great-grandparents, Ervin and Lodean. Denny left for college in Nevada, MO. Saturday, August 17 to attend welding school. Delmar said, “I’m staying home and work.”

Rodney and Kayli came out Wednesday to mow for Sue. Ron, Judy and Jerry came and built a dog pen for Sue and trimmed some trees.

Ervin and Lodean drove to Republic one day to see Lodean’s brother, Vencene Nelson, and Della Ann and found him much improved.

Holly Tubbs, Finnley, Milo and Lela all came down Tuesday to spend the day with me. They live in Springfield. The boys started back to school on Wednesday and Lela started Headstart and Holly teaches on-line.

Kailey and Kyle Thompson started back to school at Plainview on Wednesday. Kailey was happy to get started back mostly for basketball I think. Kyle will start practice soon. Kinsey started her sophomore year on Wednesday also. She will be practicing softball every evening for a while.

Larry Clayton came home over the weekend after being in the hospital for several days.
