Quote from today’s bulletin: The child of God is never alone.
Today’s sermon by Bro. Rick Batten was from Revelation 20: 12-15. “Anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire”. He said his sermon was to help people prepare for death. He explained that for new Christians, the terminology was very confusing. Such things as saved, converted, salvation, repentance, etc. He said everyone needed to repent, even though they had not killed someone or ran off with someone else’s wife, etc. Jesus was sinless; but Adam and Eve sinned and it followed them all the way to us. ‘Let’s Be Honest- we all have had a problem with something- pride, judging another person, being impatient, having lust, being selfish, coveting something of someone else, etc. It is our nature to be sinful’. Our Lord gives us hope. Jesus paid the price for us, and our sins can be taken away. What must we do? We must understand that we have sinned, and we are sorry for what we have done or said. The Holy Spirit will than start to move you and you will feel guilty or fearful of going to hell. You can then ask forgiveness at the altar or any other place. You will ask the Lord to forgive you and take away your sins. He will answer your request, and you will feel a peace. Then when your day comes to die, you will feel a comfort knowing you will be going to heaven. Mark your calendar and join us for upcoming events.
