Mt. Tabor Church News

Another great day to worship and we began with singing and prayer requests. Again, there are many needs in our little community, especially the  Phillips, Davis and Posey families, who have lost their loved ones.

Brother Ric used Psalm 121, for his message,  talking about where your help comes from. Even though we know our help comes from the Lord, sometimes it’s the last place we look.

Brother Zohn Engelhardt will be our Sunday evening speaker, beginning at 6 p.m. Everyone is invited to join us.

Old Folks Day will be September 8, 2-4 p.m. Please come with a song, poem, reading, story or anything else you would like to share. We invite anyone from Mt. Tabor community, those who may have attended Mt. Tabor School, or surrounding areas to come and have a fun afternoon.

Brother Ric visited at Glenwood Healthcare in Seymour with Carl Clements, Sunday afternoon. Carl was expecting to go home in the next few days.

Martin Hathcock attended the birthday party for Tom Harris, last Saturday evening. More than 100 friends and family were there to help make it a special day for Tom, our best to him.

Tom and Jewell Elliott attended a wedding shower for Kaleb Rogers and Erin Akers at the Vanzant Community Building, Sunday afternoon.

Large crowds attended the funerals of Dean Davis, Jimmie Posey and Judy Phillips, this past weekend, our sympathy to all the families.

Following the funeral of Dean Davis, Norma Woods and Kay Hutchison had lunch together at a local eatery and had a wonderful time of visiting and reminiscing.

Martin Hathcock spent Sunday night with Ronda and Eleazar Soto, with Ronda taking him to his doctor appointment, Monday.

Danny, Kim and Morgan Clements visited Harold and Kay Hutchison, Tuesday evening.

Kay Hutchison visited Clifford and Imogene Madewell, Monday evening.

Several in our community visited their doctors in Springfield this week, including Tom and Jewell Elliott, Martin Hathcock and Harold Hutchison. So far, all seemed to get a good report for their efforts.

While at the doctor, Monday, Harold and Kay Hutchison had a surprise visit from his niece, Teri Cooper Snow, whom he hadn’t seen in quite some time. Sister, Lucille  DeBerry, also came by while they were there.

Jo Stephens was seeing her doctor, Tuesday, but continues to be in severe pain from her back/leg problems.
