Hello from our home to your home, we have been enjoying the nice weather. We have started the quest to get ready for the Golden Age Games which will be held on November 1st at Cabool, MO.
Norma Stillings is here on Saturday playing the piano, followed by a Bible teaching with Bro. Tom Hawkins. Larry Moore is here for Sunday School with the residents in the afternoon. It was Mound Church who brought the afternoon service.
We have been enjoying the beautiful singing of Christina Penn and her friend. They are coming on Monday afternoons at 3:00 if you would like to come and hear them. A couple of Mondays they have warmed everyone up for Jeff Smith, chaplain from Three Rivers Hospice who brings the message to our residents. Yorik and Magik visited with all the residents Monday morning before going over to see the residents at Ava Place.
Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare Center now has a chaplain, Bro. Vic Murdy. He will be visiting with the residents several times a week. Bro. Vic and his group are here for group singing two times a month. Bro. Vic also does Men’s Bible Study on Friday morning. We are glad to have him in our home.
Amanda Mayberry, Evelyn Harper, Carrie Witchey, Warren Gunter, Jayma Potter and Judy Kent are the game callers and the residents look forward to them calling at game time. Ruth Evans volunteers on Thursday morning and her help is always appreciated.
Sheila Perdue from Omega Health Care was here and to help the residents make ice cream sandwiches for a treat, it might have spoiled everybody’s lunch.
Mary Catherine and her side kick, Rae, visits with the residents from room to room, the residents enjoy the softness of her fur and they love to pet her.
Whitney Pollard and Sara Johnson from Three Rivers Hospice set up their Nail Salon on Tuesday afternoon doing nails for men and women. Wilma Reynolds and Marie Dickey love the girls going to their rooms and getting their nails done. Tracy Chadwell from Three Rivers Hospice set up a soda fountain and made ice cream floats for the residents. The purple cow was the most popular floats of the day. Tanner Murray and Jayma Potter helped with the making of the floats.
Our Monthly birthday party was held with the Birthday Band playing some bluegrass music while residents enjoyed their choice of ice cream bars. Residents having birthday this month are Velda Miller, Lenora Burton, Larry Peak, Ruby Sievert, Ruby Hutson, Neva Vinson, Frances Aid, Bobby Lansdown, Leah Lee, Herman Prock and Ron Mallory. Happy Birthday to all of our residents.
The 1st Sonshine Group is here every Friday at 10:30 with good music, laughs (that would be Edgar) and the bringing of God’s word. Our home is truly blessed by our volunteers. We are also blessed by all the visitors we have in our home.
The church schedule for September is September 1st, Goodhoope Nazarene–September 8th Ava Assembly of God–September 15th Skyline Full Gospel–September 22nd Sandy Church and September 29th Life Church.
Our prayers and sympathy go out to the families of Jimmie Posey and Connie Ray Lee. Mr. Lee will be missed, he was an encourager and also had a prayer for everyone he met. Jimmie is the grandfather of Haylee Burkdoll one our CNA’s.
We would like to welcome Lulla Cook to our home. Congratulations to Lenora Burton on getting to go home this week.
God Bless You From Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare Center in Ava, MO.
