Hampton’s Cookout

Hampton’s get-together, cookout and music playing at Leisa Hampton’s county home in Douglas County hosted by Leisa, Arthur and Charlie Hampton. There was the Hampton boys – Brad, Arthur, Roy, John and Lee Hampton and most of their families and grandkids. Glenn and Carolyn Swearengin and their daughters from Montana and her two sons were also in attendance. Wilma had a great visit with Glen talking over old times. By the way, Glenn is Wilma’s first cousin.

Very good food was there, everyone bringing a dish of some sort. Fried fish, hamburgers and hot dogs even those good old beans and cornbread. About every kind of food you could imagine was there. Even the host, Leisa, served Wilma Jean with two scoops of ice cream, strawberry and chocolate, which she thought was very nice. Everyone seemed to enjoy them selves, seeing and visiting people we hadn’t seen for a long time. There were over 100 people there, I’m sure. To top off the event music was played by Bud Hampton, Arthur Hampton, Roy Hampton and Rachel (Hampton), Marvin Hampton’s daughter. Marvin played as well. She sure can play that fiddle. You guys still have it. Anyway, good times were had by all. They also had a horseshoe game after the cookout. Lots of family and non-family there, it was a great crowd.
