There were a few backyard firework displays in the neighborhood, but mostly it was quiet. The 4th of July was celebrated with some cook-outs and family gatherings. One of the neighbors had a garage sale that seemed to do well.
Pete and Anna Goos and Roger Goos of Lee’s Summit and Juhi Goos of New Jersey visited with family members in the Ava area on the 4th and 5th of July. They visited with Carl and Mary Goss and some of their family, Thursday afternoon and evening. They visited with Norma Stillings and her family, Friday.
Norma Stillings and her son, Dan, prepared a Brunch for the Goos family. Over the course of the day, Cliff and Debra Bohnstedt of Springfield, Stanley Stillings of Squires, Tom and Joyce of Ozark joined them. Alan Stillings had to leave for work at 11:00 but was in on Brunch.
The Goos family visited at some of the local cemeteries before returning to Lee’s Summit, Friday afternoon. Juhi was enjoying a three week visit with her grandparents. Her relatives here look forward to her annual visit and hope that when she graduates from high school she will still find her way back to Ava.
