Mt. Tabor Church

Mt. Tabor Church began with prayer requests for our families and church families. We have many who have lost their loved ones recently and we send our prayers to them, also.

Brother Ric read from Exodus 20, and spoke about, “What’s In A Name”. There is no other name like the name of Jesus.  He spoke about how we should cherish our good family name.

Brother Ric and Lisa were directors for a very successful junior camp at Piland Youth Camp this week. They had a good group of campers, and lots of good helpers, which they appreciated.

Fifth Sunday Meeting will be this weekend at Truehope Church at Lutie.

Mae Cox was blessed to have her brothers and sisters with her for a family time of visiting and celebrating the Pruiett birthdays. Those gathering at Donna and Tom Nichols home were Sylvia Pinkle, accompanied by her daughter, Carol Trull, of Texas, Golda Dixon, Springfield, Lue Coy, Ava, Johnny and Pauline Pruiett, Illinois, Cletis (Pudge) and Lavon Pruiett, Springfield, Sue Pruiett and son, David, Springfield, Wayne and Pam Coy, Arkansas and Lisa Johnson.

Don and Evelyn Bryan returned home Saturday, after traveling to Oklahoma for the funeral of her mother, Pauline Schauffler.

Visitors of Chestene Lietch recently was Jerry and Jo Applegate of Raytown, Larry Miller and Kenny Lietch.

Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Madewell enjoyed having their nephew and wife, and two grandchildren, from the state of California, spend a few days with them last week.

Tom and Jewell Elliott attended the funeral of Tom’s cousin, Christine Page Heard, Tuesday.

Kathy and Ed Koca, Greenfield, spent a few days with her dad, Martin Hathcock, last week. They were out at the cemetery and stopped by for a great visit with Harold and Kay Hutchison.

Kim Smith had outpatient surgery a few days ago, and Jim Hathcock took Martin over to see her Sunday.

Kay Hutchison visited in the home of Jerry and Nola Pool, Saturday. Nola’s sister, Naomi Brooks, of Washington, was here for a visit with Nola and Zola Pike, of the Brushyknob community.

Visitors of the Tom Elliotts this past week was James Elliott and Shaun and LeAnna Elliott, MaKayla and Logan.

Congratulations again to Miss MaKayla Elliott, for her silver medal, in Bible Quiz, in Illinois, a great accomplishment.

Jewell Elliott and Kay Hutchison attended Tuesday evening at Piland Youth Camp, where Brother Buddy Boyd came dressed as Jesus to speak to the junior campers.
