Caney went to White River Youth Camp Wednesday evening service. They had a blessed service with many youth singing and going to the altar. It is a joy to see young people step out for Jesus.
Sunday school opened with congregational singing.
Bro. Jack Essary welcomed everyone. He took prayer requests/praise reports. We have lots of concerns in our church family. Sis. Elsie Combs led us in prayer. Jack read Luke 8:9-14 for our devotion. Good words of life.
Praise/Worship began with testimonies from Jeff Shipley, Hi Lambeth and Jim Lafferty. Maddie Shipley sang for us. We had congregational singing. Singing special music was Melissa Harmon. We also had a Father’s Day reading by Melba Austin. Pastor Bill Austin spoke this Father’s Day from Ezekiel 22:23-30 and 13:2. God is still looking for men that will stand in the gap. It doesn’t seem like it takes much to go wrong. If we would get in the word we would be led right. Do not be led by man, only Christ is the way. It is a good father who will train up his children in the way of the Lord. All the men in the church were given a token of our appreciation. Fathers or not, they influence the children in their lives.
Bro. Jim Lafferty took prayer requests and praise reports. Sis. Melba Austin led in prayer. Testimony was given by Hi Lambeth.
Pastor Bill Austin spoke Sunday evening from Matthew 5:13, Deuteronomy 28:1-2, 13-14, 27-28 and 48 and Col. 4:6. He spoke of all the good things salt is for. It is used for flavor, preserving and healing. The church should be these things for the world. The Lord will bless us when we do His commandments. There is punishment if we don’t. Let’s be the salt of the earth. In the word we will find the salt and how we should use it in the world.
Bro. Van Menzie will be speaking for us next Sunday. Come and worship with us. You are always welcome.
