A doughnut or bran flakes? Enjoying a bowl of whole-grain cereal in the morning helps prevent high blood pressure, according to research from Harvard University. Researchers who analyzed the diet of over 13,000 participants report that men who had seven servings a week of whole-grain cereal reduced their risk for hypertension by about 20 percent. Whole grains contain potassium which helps keep blood vessels flexible.
Monday night’s jam session here at the Center was another phenomenal event with 104 in attendance and more fun and more first time visitors. If you have wanted to come but haven’t yet, you must come and hear what is going on.
Birthday wishes go out to Billy Fletcher on July 1, Eldon Hodges and Nellie Jones on July 3 and Evelyn Harper on July 5.
You can come to the Center to cool off in this summer heat and humidity. If you play cards or Mexican dominoes or want to shoot a game of pool, help put a puzzle together or just sit and read or relax and visit with others, come on down to a cool, smoke-free, alcohol-free atmosphere. We’ll treat you like friends.
Bring in your aluminum cans for recycling and help out our salad bar.
