We are so thankful for the rain that is still coming so different than last year. Kenny did some weed eating and Kyle Thompson did some mowing while the girls, Kinsey and Kailey did some cleaning and picking up Tuesday evening.
Norma Cross and I was in Springfield on business Wednesday and of course we found a couple of stores so we did some shopping.
Thursday the 9th was Kailey Thompson’s 13th birthday. She is growing up so fast.
Thursday about noon my friend, Roxanna Craggs showed up with her overalls on and with a bucket of special soil, her garden tools. She even brought some seed. I had tomato and pepper plants and she went to work and before long she had my garden out. Danny Maloney, my son, had spaded up ground. That made her work go quicker so look out I’ll be peddling veggies this summer. Haha.
Juanita Herrell, Norma, Kenny and I had lunch at the Ava Senior Center Friday. We had a very good meal that was the first for all of us. Will be going back.
Friday afternoon, my grandson, Matt Maloney from Forsyth, came up and mowed for me. The yard looks so pretty. Dick always kept the yard mowed. It’s going to be hard for us to keep it like Dick did, but will try.
Plainview School was busy all last week with trips and giving awards out to the 5th through 8th graders. Thursday night awards were given to preschool through fourth grades. Friday night Kyle and Kailey both received awards. We appreciate Brenda Reed the principal and all the teachers for their unconditional love, and patience with the students.
Tuesday night Lisa and Kayli Brown took Sue to Oasis Convention Center to see Shanda Peirce. They reported having a good time.
Worship service at Goodhope General Baptist Church May 12 opened in song. Attendance was down in the 40’s. So many out sick. Sue Brown had quite a surprise when she came out of Sunday school class into worship service and her son and family, Rod, Lisa and Kayli were sitting there. They surprised her for Mother’s Day to be in church service with her and to hear Pastor David Welsh preach.
David used scripture from Revelations, chapter 2, II Thess. Chapter 2 and Luke chapter 15.
Saturday night was the Mother/Daughter Banquet at Goodhope Gneral Baptist Church. Much appreciation to Brenda Reed and Kimberly Stillings for cooking the bountiful meal. Games were played. The tables were covered with different colored tablecloths. Sue Clayton ministered to us out of Proverbs 31. The banquet was well attended.
Mother’s Day guests in Sue Brown’s home were Ervin and Lodean Schultz, Rodney, Lisa and Kayli Brown of Seymour, Ron, Judy and Jerry Lethco of Mountain Grove, Stephanie Taylore, Pam and Cody Miller and Dianne Brown.
“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid, do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go,” Joshua 1:9.
