It was a beautiful day as we gathered for worship on Mother’s Day. We had many prayer concerns for family, friends and church family, and thanked Him for the many blessings He has given us.
Brother Ric read from Luke, and preached a very appropriate Mother’s Day message. He spoke about many of the mothers in the bible, and their important role with the leaders in that day. Mothers are the backbone of the family and have the greatest influence on the children, just as they did at that time.
We were glad to have visitors and hear their testimony about their good mother. We also had a song about mother, and a reading, and other special thoughts about this special day.
We sang Happy Birthday for Martin Hathcock, and Happy Anniversary for Kay and Harold Hutchison’s special day.
After services we handed out beautiful flower baskets to two special mothers, Hellen Blakey and Judy Yellets, and smaller flowers to all mothers.
Lloyd Shumate continues to be very low at this time, our prayers are with that family.
Kim Smith and daughter, Charlee, attended church with Martin Hathcock, Sunday. They had also celebrated his birthday earlier in the week. Ronda Soto took Martin for his doctor appointment, Tuesday, and Eleazar Soto brought him home later in the evening.
Tom and Jewell Elliott visited at Gainesville Healthcare with his sister, Pauline Ellison. Pauline’s daughter, Angela, was also there.
Tom Elliott attended the graduation party for Jesse Johnson at J.C. and Vicky’s Sunday afternoon, while Jewell spent the weekend bowling in Kimberling City.
Martin Hathcock visited Harold and Kay Hutchison, Monday evening. Kim and Danny Clements were there, also.
Jewell Elliott attended the graduation for Logan Elliott from kindergarten to first grade, Tuesday, and later in the evening also attended the awards event for MaKayla Elliott and other 3rd and 4th graders. Logan came home with grandma Tuesday afternoon.
Harlin and Shirley Hutchison and Amy, visited Harold and Kay Hutchison, Monday evening.
