May 12 – Sunday school on Mother’s Day opened with singing. Bro. Jack Essary welcomed everyone. Bro. Jeff Shipley led us in prayer. Jack read Psalms 130 for our devotion. He dismissed us to study God’s word. Maddie Shipley sang while offering was received.
Praise and Worship began with testimonies from Jeff Shipley, Melba Austin, Elsie Combs, Kelli Clemans and Janice Lafferty. We proceeded to congregational singing. We were blessed to have several guests; Please come again. Singing specials today were Melissa Harmon, Tabitha Kinyon, Jimmy Lafferty and Sam and Judy Clemans. Pastor Bill Austin brought the morning message from II Chronicles 22:2-4 and Isaiah 61:1-3. Pastor compared their mother with Samuel’s mother. One led to destruction the other to eternal life. Are we proclaiming the name of Christ to our children? Are we teaching them the ways of God? The teaching of the cross gives life eternal.
Sunday evening most everyone was still with their families. We were down in number. Pastor Bill took charge of the service taking prayer requests and praise reports. We have lots of sickness, bereaved, lost and unconcerned. Sis. Doris Lambeth led in prayer. Testimonies were given by Hi Lambeth, Melba Austin and Janice Lafferty. Bro. Bill spoke from John 7:32-51 and 9:1-9. Because of Jesus there is a division among man. If we just believe the word of God, He has made a way for us. He will open our eyes to the truth. We must trust Him. It was good to be in the house of the Lord.
The Good Hope Pickers will be at Caney May 19 at 6 pm. Come be with us, you are welcome.
