Wanda Josephine "Jo" Engelhardt, 87

Wanda  “Jo” Josephine Engelhardt, 87 years, passed away on March 21, 2013 of complications of Alzheimer’s Disease at Jordan Creek Nursing Home, Springfield, Mo.
“Jo” was born June 28, 1925 in Tarkio, Mo., to Jessie Earl and Eula Marie  (Cox) Robbins.
Jo was a lifelong resident of the Ava community.
On Jan. 18, 1946 Jo and Earl Otto Engelhardt were united in marriage in Mtn. Home, Ark., and to this union three children were born.
Jo was a dedicated housewife and mother and had also worked as a home health care worker. She also took on numerous other jobs throughout her life such as; waitressing, cooking, house cleaning, and an assistant school teacher to help make ends meet for her family. She was a Christian and was saved and baptized in 1962. She rededicated her life with Earl in 1995. Jo and Earl were inseparable throughout their marriage. They had been married 49 years and 8 months when Earl passed away. Jo was a member of the Mt. Tabor General Baptist Church where she had also attended school as a youngster.
Jo was preceded in death by her husband Earl; her parents; her grandparents who raised her, Shelt and Lottie Cox; a granddaughter, Lora Engelhardt; one brother, Clyde Robbins; and one sister, Betty Engelhardt.
Jo is survived by three children and their spouses, Pauletta and John  Moody, Battlefield, Mo., Billy and Tish Engelhardt,  Lexington, Mo., and Ric and Lisa Engelhardt, Ava, Mo.; 14 grandchildren; 30  great-grandchildren;  five great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Bill and Lois Robbins, Dixon, Mo.; one sister, Edna McIntosh, Selah, Wash.; many nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Jo were Monday, March 25, 2013, at 2 p.m. in the Mt. Tabor General Baptist Church, Ava, with burial in the Ava Cemetery. Visitation was Monday from 1 p.m. to service time in the church. Officiating were the Revs. Zohn Engelhardt and Mike Freeman. Memorials may be made to Alzheimers Assoc., Mt. Tabor General Baptist Church or love offerings.
