Red Bank Church

Hello everyone.   The Church service at Red Bank began with hymns led by Gary Lirley.  A warm welcome was provided by Jerry Huff.  Special music was presented by Eloise Hallmark. Brother Les preached the morning sermon on, “The Law Shows us Our Sin.”  (Romans 3; 23-24) For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is Christ Jesus:”

The Memorial service for Bill Holland, held on Sat. April 6, was well attended.  There were many songs, poems and testimonials offered in his behalf by his friends and family.  The fact that Bill had given his heart and life to the Lord several years ago, and loved reading his Bible and learning more and more about the God he served was the main thread that bound together all that was said and done.  After attending Sunday school for some time, one Sunday morning he told Gary that it was evident to him that he had been misled and that he had never asked Jesus to come into his heart and be his Personal Lord and Savior.  That same day, in his own home, he was led to pray; recognize to God that he believed truly that His Son, Jesus, had paid the price for his sins, and humbly asked to become a Child of God for Eternity.   He testified that in that instant, he was changed and had peace that he belonged to God, now and forever.  We all need that peace that passes all understanding.  The one song that Bill often requested to be sung in Church was, “Just a Closer Walk with Thee.”

Another of our community went to be with the Lord this week.  Tom Brown quietly passed on to his home in Heaven last Thursday morning.  His funeral will be held at the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Wed. April 10th at 10:00 a.m.

Visiting in our home Saturday morning was Maxine Lirley, Jeane Huff and James Lirley.  We spent most of our time together practicing the songs we were to sing at Bill’s Memorial Service.

Bill Holland’s daughter, Lisa, was a guest in the home of Pam Shell for the weekend.  She flew in from the state of Rhode Island to attend her brother’s Memorial Service.

That’s all the news for now.  Take care.  God is Love and God Loves You.
