Raydene Lesser, 72

Raydene Leser, 72, of Ava, Mo., passed away on March 24, 2013 at the Gainesville Healthcare Center. She was born on Feb. 9, 1941, in Leavenworth, Kan., the daughter of Alvey Percy and Calla Rene (Carter) Lindsey.
Raydene was a dynamic individual that loved life, loved to laugh and found her greatest joy when she was helping others. Through her life she held various positions of which provided opportunity for her to help others. She was the first female deputy sheriff for Ozark County, a graduate of the first emergency medical technician course held in Ozark County. She was a nurse and during her years in Arizona enjoyed her time as a real estate agent.
Raydene is survived by her mother, Calla Mathy, of Gainesville, Mo.; three daughters and one son, Kim Sullivan and her husband, Rocky, of Gainesville, Mo., Karla Eslinger and her husband, David, of Wasola, Mo., Jeff Lamar, of Gainesville, Mo., and Jamie Dorum and her husband, David, of Lakeside, Ariz.; two stepchildren, Sherry Weeks and Bob, of Bloomfield, Ind., and Todd Leser and Jean, of Golden, Colo. Other survivors include 19 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law Rosemary Lindsey, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Alvey Percy Lindsey; her husband, Herb Leser; brother Alvey Douglas Lindsey; and one infant sister.
A Memorial service was held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home chapel in Gainesville, Mo., with Ron Pinckney officiating. Visitation was Tuesday evening from 5 p.m. to service time. A private burial will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be given to the Herb and Raydene Leser Nursing Scholarship and can be left at the funeral home.
