Gentry Church

Easter Sunday we started our early morning with a Sunrise service at 7 a.m. Bro. Rodney Brown was our guest speaker with text from Luke, chapter 24. Jesus is our risen Savior and because He lives we have hope today and eternal life and can go to him directly with our prayers and every day trials and burdens. Afterwards we had our “Jesus Out Of The Grave” breakfast and Easter egg hunt for the kids. Many attended this glorious service.

Our Sunday school lesson was on Hope Restored. We learned the disciples found new hope when they learned of Jesus’ ressurrection. Believers in Jesus can and do lose hope at times, but like any cloudy day the sun will always shine again. Jesus will never leave us.

Happy Birthday wishes went out to Wyatt Young and Haylie Willamae Young. Also Wyatt received a certificate for graduating from Children’s Church.

Gentry will be singing at the Ava nursing home April 7th at 2 p.m.

Next Sunday night April 7th, Bro. Tom Holt will be our guest speaker at 6 p.m.

Our special songs were by the Gentry Singers and a reading by Narvil Tetrick.

Harley and Faye Allen spent Easter Sunday afternoon visiting her brother, Bill Swofford, at the hospital where he is a patient after suffering a stroke. Remember him in prayer, also, all the prayer requests brought forth Sunday.

Visiting in our home Sunday afternoon and having Easter dinner was Kevin and Cindy, Keaton and Hannah Reich.

Bro. Bob Huskey brought our morning message from Mark, chapter 16. Jesus is the victor, he conquered death, he is a risen savior, alive today, and holds king and kingdom in his hands. He saves us and forgives us.
