May 2 is the National Day of Prayer. Our nation is in desperate need of prayer.
Wednesday evening service began with singing. Bro. Jim Lafferty took charge of the service by taking prayer requests and praise reports. Pastor Bill led us in prayer. Jim read Mark 4:13-20. The cares of this life can get in the way of service the Lord. When we should put it in Christ’s hands and let Him work it out while we try to spread God’s word and live for Him. He will make a way for us. It is good to be in the house of the Lord. We learn and discuss and have a blessed time.
Sunday School began with a time of singing. Bro. Jack welcomed all to service by taking prayer requests and praise reports. Bro. Jim Lafferty led in prayer. Jack read Psalms 38:9-15 for our devotional.
After a very interesting Sunday School lesson Happy Birthday was sung to Gabe Shipley.
Praise and Worship began with testimonies by Jeff Shipley and Vanessa Mills. Gracie Shipley played the piano. It takes courage to step out solo. Maddie Shipley sang. Our God is an awesome God. This family is a blessing to our church. We then began congregational singing. Special music presented by Melissa Harmon. Pastor Bill Austin spoke this morning from I Thess. 5:1-5, 14-16, Romans 5:1-5. We should be glad and rejoice that we can see Christ through our spiritual eyes. We can have hope in Christ. We know Christ will return for those that their names are written in Heaven. Prepare today to go with Christ. There is much rejoicing over those that come to know Christ. Lets all rejoice in the Lord and do our part to witness to others. We rejoice today that our God gave His Son to die for us. We have a living God.
Sunday evening service began with joyful singing.
Bro. Jeff Shipley took charge of the service by taking prayer requests and praise reports. Sis. Lila Roberts led in prayer. Testimonies were given by Jack Essary, Melba Austin, Janice Lafferty, Lila Roberts, Hi Lambeth and Ethel Metcalf. Singing tonight was Ethel Metcalf. We had a special altar of prayer for sick loved ones in our church family. Pastor spoke from II Chronicles 29:27-28 and Acts 17:22-34. The world would love to see the doors of the church closed. Even the people of God by not attending are closing the doors. We should be singing and praising God every chance we get. Tell what God has done for you then God will bless the nation. Today we are fogetting God and if our leaders would serve God. I wish people would want to know about God and study His word. God commans that all men everywhere repent.
