April 3 – This writer has not been here on Wednesday very much due to weather and family sickness, maybe things will be better now.
Services at Caney began with singing. Bro. Hi Lambeth took charge of the service taking prayer requests and praise reports. Bro. Jim Lafferty led in prayer. Bro. Hi was our leader this week. He read Deuteronomy 4:25-40. Hi had good thoughts on this scripture. Our God is a jealous God and He will get angry when we put things above Him. We must follow Him with all our heart and soul for Him to bless us. We must try to keep His commandments.
Everyone had good thoughts and great scripture to read. I always learn so much when we come together. Come and see we’d love to show you the love of Jesus. We had an opening song for Sunday school. Bro. Jack Essary welcomed everyone. He took prayer requests and praise reports. Sis. Lorrinda Coulter led in prayer. Jack read I Corinthians 15:1-8 for our devotion. We dismissed to study God’s word. We had a very interesting lesson. We are blessed with good teachers who study and explain the word. Maddie Shipley blessed us singing. Our God is an awesome God.
Praise and Worship began with testimonies from Jeff Shipley and Tom Cummings and with congregational singing. Melissa Harmon did special music. Pastor Bill Austin brought the morning message from Matthew 12:42. Lets pray for wisdom and understanding while walking in the ways of God then He will bless us. We know there is a God because He lives in our hearts and we can feel Him there. If you fail to live for Christ, judgement will fall. It was a thoughtful message.
We were so glad for our visitors today. Come be with us again. To those that weren’t here today, you really were missed.
May 19 the Goodhope Pickers will be with us again at Caney. Service will start at 6 p.m. Bring a song and a dish and join in the fellowship.
Sunday evening service began with congregational singing. Bro. Bill took charge of the service by taking prayer requests and praise reports. Bro. Jack led us in prayer. We would like to see more out to service, but we know “where 2 or 3 are God will be there.” We pray the Lord will put a desire in heart to be here. Pastor spoke from Matthew 16:13-23. Who do men say Christ is? The world says Christ is many things, but the Bible says He is the son of the living God. He is the rock of ages, the chief corner stone, He is the foundation of the church. If we ask Christ into our heart He will make us a temple of God.
God meets with us at Caney. Come and see. You are welcome here. The Bible says in Hebrew that we should assemble together.
