March 20 – Caney Church came together Wednesday to praise the Lord and read and study God’s word. Service began with singing then Bro. Jeff Shipley took prayer requests and praise reports. Bro. Jim Laffety led us in prayer. Jeff read I John 1:5-10 and I Timothy 4:1-16. John is very plain in the scripture. We must realize our failures, repent and ask Jesus into our heart. Do not follow false teachers or doctrines. This we read in I Timothy. If we follow Christ we can have peace and joy. We need to teach and be examples of Christ. A good lesson and good discussion followed.
We are few in number, but we have an interesting time and God meets with us. We pray God will put a desire in people’s hearts to come be with us.
Pastor Bill Austin brought the morning message from Luke 24:45-47 and Isaiah 53:3-9.
Only the Bible is truth, believe in Christ and in His resurrection. He is risen, He is alive. Only Jesus can save us. Only Christians have an empty grave to go to.
A great Easter message. We were so glad for all our visitors. Please come again.
Sunday evening opened with song. Prayer request were taken by Bro. Bill and prayer was led by Bro. Hi Lambeth. Praise reports and testimonies were given by Sis. Doris, Sis. Melba and Bro. Hi. Message was given by Bro. Jack from Luke 24:36-53. The world can say and think anything they want, it doesn’t change the fact that Jesus was killed by his own, but three days later arose and visited with different ones and then ascended to heaven and is still a constant presence with every single believer. We were dismissed by Sis. Doris.
Easter Sunday morning Sunday school opened with singing. Bro. Jack Essary welcomed everyone. Prayer requests and praise reports were given. Then service changed to congregational singing followed by special music presented by Ethel Metcalf, Melissa Harmon, Tabitha Kinyon, Jimmy Lafferty and Charles Lafferty.
