Troop G To Offer Boating Safety Courses This Spring

Captain Dwayne F. Isringhausen, commanding officer of Troop G, Willow Springs, announces boating safety certification courses will be offered to the public at the following locations:

Saturday, March 2 – National Park Service, 404 Watercress Drive, Van Buren, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Saturday, April 20 – First Baptist Church, 300 S. Second Street, Ellington, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Students must be present to satisfy requirements for the boating safety card.  There is no fee for this course and you do not need to pre-register; however, students may pre-register online and obtain a complete listing of where other courses are being offered by visiting the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s website, www.mshp.dps.mo.gov. Select “Boat Safety Education & Certification” found under the “Training” heading.

Missouri law requires any person born after Jan. 1, 1984 to carry a boating safety certification card along with a picture ID anytime they operate a vessel, which includes personal watercraft, on Missouri lakes.  Any student who successfully passes this course will be eligible to order the boating safety certification card, which costs $15.
