Rome

We got a little over an inch of rain Saturday night and Sunday. It looks good to see the branches running and the ponds full. Big Beaver is rolling, too.

Norma Cross and I visited Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare last week. We had lunch with Peggy Jenkins, Goldie Miller and Irene Richards. We want to thank Kimberly Stillings for leading us in the Beth Moore bible study on Tuesdays at Goodhope Baptist Chruch. We are studying the book of James, now.

We have new neighbors in Peckerwood Hollow, Mason and Shelly Guill and children. They moved into Rusty Ryan’s doublewide last week.

Tom Brown has been in Springfield several times to see his doctors and having tests. Diane told me last evening at church that Sue was taking him back today, Monday, to determine when his treatments will start. He has had lots of sickness, our prayers go out to him and Sue.

Norma Cross and I were in Claremore, OK. last week, to attend the annual sister’s party. We started this in 1989, a year after our mother passed away. Then we lost our oldest sister Reatha(Jenkins) Haas, two years ago. The four of us have continued this time of year to get together, we include our nieces, they keep us young.. This year we went to Hominy, OK., about 70 miles west of Claremore, where Jim and Reatha’s grandson has a trailer restaurant., called Wild Country.  You would have to see it to believe what he has done with those big trailers. It seats 70 people on different levels, all their meat is cooked outside on a huge grill. They have 38 people working for them.  They also have a lot of other things on display, it’s  quite a place.Norma and I rode from Ozark with Norma’s daughter. We stayed with Georgia Sanders, then everyone went to Sue Johnson’s home for food and games, etc.  Sickness and work kept a few away. Sisters there were Georgia Sanders, Sue Johnson, Norma Cross and Pauline Richards.
