I don’t care what anyone says, the ground hog did see his shadow. I am tired of this cold weather and the wind, but God is in control.
Colleen took the many prayer requests to God. I am so happy God hears all those requests.
One of the brothers in the church voiced something I had never heard. “I have been in wilderness numerous times in my life.” I now can see there are times when “I too” have been there, going through hardships, sickness and the passing of a loved one, but Jesus is also going through that wilderness with us.
The morning message was in Luke 19:28. When we obey Jesus’s instructions, without a struggle, he will use us.
When Jesus sent two of his disciples into the city to get a young colt, he had already prepared the way. When the Lord has need of something he will set it up, because there is a need. Another way he prepared the situation was the colt had never been ridden, “he will prepare the way.”
Our evening message was delivered by John W. John is one of our newly called to preach young people. His scripture was Acts 8:14. Simon heard of people in Samaria receiving the holy ghost. In Acts 8:13 it tells us Simon believed, but Simon offered them money if they would lay hands on him. He also wanted power. That’s not how it works, is it? Peter told him he was wicked and not right in the sight of God.
Jesus has paid the price for all of us, but we have to ask forgiveness and accept his sacrifice.
Come visit us when you can. We will welcome you.
We are at the corner of N.W. 6th Ave. and N.W. 7th St.
