2-11-13. My rain gauge messed up so I didn’t get a count of how much rain we got Friday and Saturday. It was welcome whatever it was.
Plainview just had one ballgame last week with Ava Victory Academy the 3rd and 4th grade lost and the 5th and 6th grade won. They were both good games.
I took Kyle to one of his friends birthday party Saturday afternoon to a place out west of Seymour on 60 highway called the Round About. It is a big building with lots of stuff for kids to play on. It looks like a fun place.
I’ve had several long distance calls last week from cousins and friends and Scott Richards called one morning filling me in on the family in Cape Girardeau. It is so good to keep in touch with loved ones.
Freeda Richards’ children rented a place in Springfield and had her a surprise birthday party Saturday the second of February. All her grandchildren and great grands, but one was there. She said they really did surprise her. Those attending were Karl and Christine Richards from Rolla, Janette Knox, Zander and Grayson of Rolla, Ben and Sarah Menary and Baylor of Rolla, Marcus and Blaine Richards from Long Island, New York, Keith and Michelle Richards of Ava, Kevin and Haley and Garrett Richards, Nick and Jennifer Pitts, Kyle and Kennen all from Ava, John and Emily Patachok from Nixa, Nicole Harris and Grayson from Nixa. They were cousins.
This week visitors of Tom and Sue Brown have been Bob and Ella Mae Husky, Bob Jackson, Terry and Mel Cornelius and Dianne Garrison.
Ron, Judy and Jerry Lethco of Mountain Grove came by one day and cut a pine tree from the yard for Sue.
Sue says she remembers when Dianne brought the tree home from school in a paper cup when she was in kindergarten and they planted it. They had the pine tree for several years.
Sue says she had the flu this past week. She was very sick for a few days, but is better now.
Ron, Jerry and Judy also stopped by to see Ervin and Lodean on the same day they were at Tom and Sue’s.
Attendance at Goodhope Baptist was 61. Susie Adams sang a special on Sunday.
Pastor David Welsh preached a very inspiring spiritual message: Message of the Cross; Unconditional Love using scripture Luke 23:44-47 and Revelation 22:1-5.
Sunday evening at 5 p.m. Jeffery Tanner spoke to the youth at Goodhope Baptist Church. That young man is a great speaker. He knows the Bible.
Sunday at 6 p.m. David brought the message from I Thess. 5:14-22. It was a very good message.
