Last Weeks News – My apologies to Hope Evans as it was her picture that was in the paper. When you get old your memory gets mixed. Hope was in the paper this week. Lots of times kids we know are in it and no names telling who they are and several of our kids from Eastern Gate are in there too.
I talked to Melissa Hutchinson and she and Ralph were baby sitting grandson, Lane Porter. Her mom, Barbara Combs has the shingles.
Junior, David and Rex Halcomb have visited us during the week. Recently James visited Russ Jones and went with him to feed his cattle. They saw several nice deer horns at the Bradleyville Store. The guy is finding deer dead after season, so we have some kind of disease in them.
Gordon Jones has improved a lot. He needs to use his walker, but he has impoved a lot since his return home. And there is no place like home.
As we came home from church Sunday Jerry Nelson had lots of company.
Happy Birthday to Shirley Halcomb and Sybil Harvill. We stopped by both places and left gifts. Also Happy Anniversary to Shirley and Rex.
It was good to have Lisa Ellison back at church Sunday. She sang a special and she and grandson, Wyatt, also sang. Both are very talented. Several are still having these flu bugs. It seems like they will not fly away. Our attendance was 53.
This Weeks News – Saturday, February 23rd a very fine Christian lady went to be with our Lord and it was her prayer and wish. Bless her heart she touched so many lives. She was a good wife, loving and caring mother and grandmother and a great sister to Maxine, Lyn and Galen. She was also a good neighbor. If we followed her pattern, what a wonderful world. My sympathy to the family, but heaven gained a singing angel. Visitation was Wednesday at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home at 6 p.m. and funeral Thursday at 10 a.m. Rev. Lee Hampton and Rev. James Orick did the officiating. She was buried in the Goodhope Cemetery.
Remember, thank you Lord for your blessings on me. Sister Willene did.
