Gentryville

Guess I’ll try and write a little bit of news this chilly Tuesday morning. It is 27 degrees here and frosty.

Ann Collins and I enjoyed going to church Sunday morning. Ted Cain and wife were there, he talked for the Gideons.

Ginger Burch and Dwayne Sparks gave birthday offerings. Her birthday was January 31st and Dwayne was February 2nd.

Oscarbell Austin wasn’t at church. She has not been feeling well for awhile. Get-well wishes to her and also to Bill Jarrett, who wasn’t feeling well.

Annie and I visited awhile Saturday evening with Karen and Doug Frederick.

On Sunday the 27th (Doug’s birthday) his Dad, Butch Fredrick and Nita and her mother of Mountain Grove and Sirena Bradshaw, Cole and Izzy had visited them.

Carol Wise and Riley of Mountain Grove and Ella May Daugherty visited Sunday with Ann Collins, Carol had dinner started when we got home from church.

I finally went to the doctor and got some antibiotics and feel much better. I had bronchitis.

Sharon Driskell visited me awhile Monday morning. She was going to town with Bud and Bill Emery.

E.J. Curtis was laid to rest Saturday at Souder. My sympathy to his family. He had been in poor health for some time.

I was sitting here at my kitchen table yesterday morning getting my bills ready to mail and the mist was coming up from Fox Creek and I thought of this Bible verse, James 4:4, “Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow for what is your life? It is even a vapor, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.”

Of course this isn’t commited to memory I had to look it up.

Until next time, God bless all of us.
