Caney Church

February 6 – Wednesday evening service began with singing. Bro. Jim Lafferty took charge of the service taking prayer requests and praise reports. We are blessed that the Lord hears and answers. Sis. Lila Roberts led in prayer. Jim read Psalms 89:15-18. We are blessed people when we walk with the Lord, was his thought. Good thoughts and wonderful scriptures were read. Come study with us, if you don’t have a place to go. We will never learn it all, but is an interesting time.

Sunday school began with singing. Bro. Jack Essary welcomed everyone to service. He took praise reports and prayer requests. Bro. Jeff Shipley led our hearts in prayer. Help us pray for all the sick with flue and viruses. Bro. Jack read Romans 8:31-39 for our devotion. Only we ourselves can separate us from the love of God. Maddie Shipley sang while offering was received. She’s a good little singer.

Praise and Worship began with testimonies by Jim Lafferty, Jeff Shipley, Hi Lambeth and Janice Lafferty. Congregational singing began our service. Special music was given by Ethel Metcalf and Melissa Harmon. Pastor Bill read Matthew 12:43-45 for his scripture. The spirit of God and satan cannot live in the same place. When Crhist lives within us, satan has no power. Satan is trying to drag people down. He doesn’t want to go alone to that wicked place. Don’t let him drag you down. Keep Christ first in your life. Have you lost your desire to serve God? Where were you this Sunday?

Bro. Hi sang to close the service. We appreciate Sis. Ethel Metcalf for filling in for Sis. Melba Austin by playing the piano. It was a spirit-filled service.

Sunday evening began with congregational singing. Bro. Jeff Shipley welcomed everyone. He took prayer requests and praise reports. We have many out sick, pray for them also our country, the lost, the military, bereaved and our church. Bro. Jack Essary led in prayer. Jim Lafferty gave a testimony. Ethel Metcalf did a special singing. Pastor Bill brought the evening message from Matthew 8:1-15, Psalms 107:8-15 and Romans 5:1-2.

Do we have faith in Christ? Do we believe He can and will heal? Do we praise Him when He answers? Are you a servant of Christ?

Come be with us at Caney. You are welcomed. Service times are Sunday school at 10:00 a.m., worship at 11:00 a.m., Sunday evening at 6:00 p.m. and Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m.
