Ava Woman Seriously Hurt In Head-On Crash Tuesday

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAAn Ava woman was taken to the hospital with serious injuries just after noon Tuesday following a crash on Highway 14, three miles east of Ava.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol said both vehicles involved were across the center line and hit head-on.
Seriously injured and taken to Mercy Hospital, Springfield, by Cox Ambulance-Ava, was Nelma M. Lister, 81, of Ava. She was traveling east in a 1999 Ford Explorer.
The driver of the other vehicle, a 1993 Dodge Ram pickup, was Charles E. Ritter, 64, of Ava. He sustained minor injuries and was taken to Cox South Hospital by ambulance.
Ritter was westbound on Highway 14 when the crash occurred at 12:16 p.m.
Highway Patrol Sgt. Keith Jones reported both drivers were wearing seatbelts.
Ava Rural Fire Department assisted with traffic at the crash scene.
Pamela L. Misner, 55, of Ava, suffered moderate injuries Monday when she wrecked her 2007 Toyota Carola five miles south of Mansfield on Douglas County Route B.
Tpr. Daniel Johnson said Misner was traveling north on Route B when she ran off the road and wound up in a ditch at 7 p.m. Monday.
She was taken to Mercy Hospital in Springfield by ambulance.
